Northern Taiwan

Northern Taiwan's diversity and convenience makes for a great starting point.

Northern Taiwan is home to the country’s capital city of Taipei, the beautiful and rugged Northern Coastline, the scenic Pingxi Rail Line, the magical mountain town of Jiufen, the long surf beaches of Yilan, historic Hakka villages and indigenous Atayal tribes. The country’s most convenient and developed region, Northern Taiwan is a great base camp for shorter tours and day-trips. Just north of Taipei is Taiwan’s most accessible national park, Yangmingshan National Park, while to the east is Taiwan’s best non-tourist night market, the Keelung Miaokou Night Market, and the magical mining towns of Jiufen and Jinguashi. Yilan’s Jiaoxi hot springs are some of the highest quality and least expensive in the country while the mountains of Taoyuan are filled with valley after valley of cascades, Atayal villages, and winding mountain roads.
